AI Lab: I built the control panel for all my communications
Welcome to my artificial intelligence lab. I'm building a company where I'm the only human and the employees are AI agents. Follow along!
AI LAB · EXPERIMENT 3
I built the control panel for all my communications.
Microsoft Teams. Twelve email accounts. Messenger. Facebook comments. LinkedIn messages and comments.
The problem isn't just replying.
It's everything you have to open, read, sort, file, put in context and sometimes delete before you even get to the messages that matter.
So I created a centralized feed, supervised by Hendrix, my agent in charge of communications.
Before a message reaches me, Hendrix cleans house.
He deletes what has no value, archives promotions and routes anything related to accounting to another module. I'll come back to that in a future experiment.
My main feed only contains what is truly relevant.
Once a week, the system creates a task suggesting I check the archives, in case something important slipped in there.
Honestly, I rarely go.
I could also ask him to gather every communication that wasn't passed on to me into a single summary, so I can quickly confirm nothing is getting past me.
That would be simple to add.
For now, I haven't felt the need. But the level of control you need probably depends on each person's context.
Some messages contain important information without requiring a reply.
Hendrix presents them to me as "for information." I can read them, ignore them and tell him whether that type of information interests me. Next time, he adjusts his sorting.
When a reply is needed, Hendrix prepares a personalized draft based on the CRM, my emails, LinkedIn and the history of the relationship.
I can edit it, discuss it with an agent, cancel it or approve it.
Once approved, it goes back out automatically through the right channel: Teams, Outlook, Gmail, LinkedIn, Messenger or elsewhere.
So I'll be spending a lot less time in all those applications.
My application is becoming the control panel for my communications.
The gain doesn't only come from automated writing. It also comes from everything I no longer have to read, sort or move myself.
For now, nothing leaves the system without my approval.
I remain the human in the loop, but Hendrix is gradually learning what deserves my attention.
And you, how much control would you keep over what an agent decides not to show you?
